Moong Dal Nuggets are a delicious and healthy snack made from split green gram (moong dal).



 Ingredients:


1 cup moong dal (split green gram), soaked for 2-3 hours

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2-3 green chilies, finely chopped

1-inch piece ginger, grated

2-3 garlic cloves, minced

1/4 cup coriander leaves, finely chopped

1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

Salt to taste

Oil for frying


Instructions:


1. Preparing the Batter:

Drain the soaked moong dal and grind it to a coarse paste without adding much water. The paste should be thick and slightly grainy.

Transfer the ground moong dal paste to a mixing bowl.

2. Adding Spices and Vegetables:

Add finely chopped onion, green chilies, grated ginger, minced garlic, and chopped coriander leaves to the moong dal paste.

Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt to taste. Mix everything well to form a dough-like mixture.

3. Shaping the Nuggets:

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small nuggets or patties.

4. Frying:

Heat oil in a deep pan or kadai over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the nuggets into the oil.

Fry the nuggets in batches, turning them occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy on all sides.

Remove the fried nuggets with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.

5. Serving:

Serve the hot moong dal nuggets with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
